Cadillac Mountain
(Click on the pictures below for a larger view)

Cadillac Mountain (named after the French nobleman Sieur de Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac) is the highest peak (at 1,530 ft at its summit) on the east coast north of Brazil.  For you history buffs, Cadillac later headed west and founded Detroit (Michigan) whereby they later named a car after him.  It is said that if you are on the mountain during sunrise, you will be the first person in the United States to see the morning sun.  The views of Bar Harbor and the various harbors and islands were truly spectacular from up there.

The girls seem to be petting the clouds from here. Now this is the life! A view of the ocean. This is downtown Bar Harbor as seen from Mt. Cadillac.
