Bar Harbor & the 4th of July
(Click on the pictures below for a larger view)

Bar Harbor is a quaint little town filled with shops along main street, and the hustle of tourists throughout.  We spent the day there on the 4th of July taking in the local festivities.  We had a lobster feast (lobster, corn on the cob, muscles, etc) in the park at their festival, and enjoyed various entertainment (music, magic, etc) at the town center.  We saw the movie Shrek at the local theater.  It was one of those casual eat-in theaters - seating only about 60 people, with couches, tables & chairs, and even bean bags for the kids.  As dark approached, we watched the fireworks shooting out over Frenchman Bay.  It was a very nice day!

A nice shot of the harbor on a foggy afternoon. Looking out into the harbor Lot's of cruise ships visit Bar Harbor. According to the sign, this rock has been in this spot since the late 1800's.  Guess the kids don't have much of a chance moving it!

The kids painted themselves (and others) to get into the 4th of July spirit.  These are Anna's arms. Here, Ashley shows her artwork. Even her face was painted. The girls posing on an anchor in downtown Bar Harbor
