This was the big trip - a thousand miles round trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  We've often hear of other folks taking trips down there, and having such a wonderful time.  So, we figured it was time we ventured down to have a look for ourselves. In attendance were Ricky Brock family, Helen Canet family, Tom Carrick family, and Bruce Laliberte family.  Special guest all the way from California was Brittany, who is Mike's niece.  It was quite a drive down, and the trip was littered with problems.  The Carrick's made three trips to the hospital and also had camper failure.  There were hordes of ants that proved to be a constant battle.  and other various and sundry issues.  The kids had a great time, however, with the pools, the beach, and other campground activities.  We did take in a show at the Alabama Theater, which was probably the highlight of the trip.  All in all, it was a good camping vacation, but I doubt that it will be back on our re-visit list any time soon!

(Click on the pictures below for more pictures)

"The Dance" - there was a teen dance at the campground, so here we've chronicled  the process by which four teen girls get ready for the big event.

"Meals" - we shared plenty of meals during the trip.  Here are some pictures of a few of them in the making.

"Ripley's" - believe it or not was on our agenda for a visit during our two-week stay at Myrtle Beach.

"Misc" - There are always pictures that don't fit any other particular category, and end up in the miscellaneous bucket.  Here's one of Ricky taking a mid-day nap that clearly wouldn't fit anywhere else!

"Birthdays" - Brian and Brittany celebrated birthdays while on the trip.  We had a nice gathering complete with cake (thanks to Bruce's new camper oven) and ice cream.

"Water" - Lots of water activities at the campground including the beach, pools, lazy river, and a Jacuzzi.
