Aloha from Cherrystone!

Well, this was our final planned tip for the summer of 2000.  We spent 5 glorious days in Cheriton, VA along the shores of the Chesapeake bay.  Cherrystone is a 300+ acre, 700+ site mega-campground.  The usual campers (Brock, Canet, and Laliberte) families were there.  In addition, we were pleased to have the Carrick family and Grandma Terry and Grandpa Rick along with us.  This was Cherrystone's "Aloha Weekend" with festivities commensurate with the Hawaiian island - lei making, pineapple eating contest, Hawaiian shirt contest, etc.  We also celebrated several birthdays over the weekend - Erika, Emily, Michael, and Becca.  We enjoyed a nice seafood feast (Ricky had steak) including steamers, shrimp, and swordfish.  We spent one day at Cape Charles beach, which was a lot of fun.

Whether it was hanging around the campground or dancing to the Live Band at night, Cherrystone Campground had lots to offer in the way of entertainment.
Cape Charles Beach, located only a few miles from the campground,   was one of the highlights of the trip.  Nice sand and dune beach, and crisp cool bay water made for a fun day for the kids.
